SBD is seeking a motivated Project Control Specialist to join an exciting modernization project for our client working in a fast-paced and forward-thinking agile environment. The project team will be responsible for developing and supporting a custom developed web-enabled system. This includes the user story development, architectural design, coding, testing, implementation, and maintenance of new functionalities as well as enhancements to existing ones. Data Analytics support is a critical function of the system and will provide users the ability to analyze and use the health insurance and related information. This includes a data repository and analytics solution to act as a cloud-based data platform for capturing, sharing, aggregating, and analyzing health insurance and related information to support improved decision making, improved business practices and improved services to states and federal agencies.

 
The Project Support Specialist provides project and program management support for projects within SBD’s Health IT Business Unit, including documentation management, resource management, and administrative process management support to project and organizational leadership. This position supports key project and program management functions by providing process and administrative support including creating and maintaining project-related documentation, assisting with staff onboarding and offboarding, and assisting with coordination and scheduling of key organizational and project meetings and events. In addition, this position supports project reporting, internal team communications, time sheet management, and project level expense and financial management activities.
 

Responsibilities:
  • Provide project management support including task management, status reporting, document management, and general project operations support using a variety of productivity tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Attend project meetings to assist project manager and to contribute to projects activities. Offer comments and suggestions related to the project. Assist with agenda and meeting minute preparation.
  • Provide status and progress reporting support, assisting with the preparation of management reports.
  • Assist with coordination of team activities, functions, and events.
  • Provide communications support by assisting with emails, assisting with
  • preparation of briefing material, and other general team communications.
  • Provide timesheet management support.
  • Provide project financial and expense management support.
  • Coordinate the onboarding and offboarding of all staff on the project.
  • Provide project operations support for internal corporate activities including employee performance management, invoice management, and other internal functions and responsibilities as needed.
 
Skills/Qualifications (Required):
  • Associate’s Degree in engineering, finance, accounting, or a related field is required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree is preferred.
  • Previous related business experience desired, but not required. Must have proficient computer skills, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Understand basic fundamentals of iterative development
  • Understand basic fundamentals of software development processes and procedures
  • Understand incremental delivery and the value of metrics
  • Must be able to pass background investigation
  • Must be forward thinking and passionate problem solver able to work in a group environment that contributes to global client and company mission and culture
  • Able to take on new challenges and professionally communicate and collaborate with peers and executive client and corporate leadership
 
Knowledge:
  • Familiarity with project management concepts, including understanding of principles and practices of project operations.
