Solutions By Design II, LLC (SBD) is looking for a confident Data Architect/ETL Developer to help lead a team of motivated professionals in work that may impact the quality of health care for millions of people. The Data Architect will link diverse structured data sets tracking lifestyle, health decisions, health care, and health payments as it relates to injury, disease, recovery, and wellness. The Data Architect will achieve these objectives through individual effort and by helping to lead and working within a research team devoted to this effort.

The ideal candidate will be analytical, detail driven, and possess excellent problem-solving skills. Your passion, creativity, and interest are equally as important as your education, mathematical understanding, and past experience.

Responsibilities include:
  • Construct, link, clean, and create accessible documentation for large scale datasets.
  • Storing and compiling data into a secure central repository
  • Work in partnership with the team’s health policy expert and statistics expert to apply quantitative methods to health data and to especially seek statistical patterns and associations within the variance of multiple independent and dependent health variables
  • Lead, collaborate, and support BI teams to create reporting data structures
  • Enforce standards and best practices around data modeling efforts
  • Assure the integrity and the high quality of all work products
  • Ensure that the needs of all customers are met timely, accurately, and professionally
  • Adheres to and Advocates the requirements of IT Privacy and Security Policies and Procedures
 

To be considered for this role, candidates must have:
  • 4+ years (mid) or 8+ years (senior) progressively increasing experience in data modeling
  • Candidates must demonstrate success in past projects of similar size and scope.
  • Candidates must demonstrate success in building meaningful and productive relationships with colleagues, customers, and business partners.
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to learn quickly and think independently
  • Act with high integrity, professionalism, and devotion to team development
  • Be creative, professional, and accustomed to take initiative
  • Perform well under deadline
  • BS/BA in Computer Science or relevant field
  • Extensive knowledge of large scale data warehousing environments, relational database design, database infrastructure architecture and Business Intelligence (BI)
  • 4+ years hands-on work experience in Data Architect / ETL Developer role
  • Experience with Oracle, SQL, and shell scripting
  • Experience with query optimization in a data warehousing environment
  • Knowledge of data analysis and data management techniques
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
  • Oracle 12c Certifications to include Oracle Data Integrator (or comparable ETL software)
  • Must be able to pass a CMS-specific Public Trust background investigation

Desired skills and experience:
  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science or relevant field
  • Prior experience supporting Federal agencies including HHS, CMS or other health IT business domain.
  • Prior experience supporting the health care or health insurance industries
  • Knowledge and experience with CMS-specific lifecycles a plus (e.g., XLC).
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Experience with Cloud based databases and data warehouses
  • Understand basic fundamentals of software development processes and procedures
  • Understand incremental delivery and the value of metrics
  • Familiarity with common Agile practices, service-oriented environments, and better development practices
