Senior DevOps Engineer

SBD is seeking a Senior DevOps Systems Engineer for our Federal Client. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, monitoring and deploying highly available, highly scalable applications for multiple environments. Work as a member of the Scrum team daily for the maintenance, upkeep and integrity of these environments. Provide expertise in the use of Cloud reference architectures and solutions to support software development in a DevOps environment. Leverage the applications of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field and apply general knowledge of other related disciplines. Support technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Provide analysis for approach to solutions.


Duties Include:
  • Work with customer, development and engineering teams to define and implement innovative solutions
  • Develop process and scripts to automate build, installation, deployment and monitoring of applications and its components
  • Monitor and manage the applications and server environment for performance and other issues
  • Prepare processes and document work and environment
  • Handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Coordinate in problem identification, diagnosis and resolution
  • Support IT systems by involving in day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for identified problems


Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience with working in Cloud environments including AWS Cloud
  • 5+ years of experience with multiple operating systems, including UNIX, Linux, and Windows
  • 5+ years of experience in troubleshooting very complex distributed environments and perform root cause analysis
  • 3+ years of experience with running Internet facing or auto-deployed environments while adhering to service level agreements
  • 3+ years in Agile Development, Cloud systems, or ITIL related Certifications
  • Knowledge of the unique aspects of public services systems
  • Experience with Provisioning tools (Chef/Puppet)
  • Experience with AWS Cloud Monitoring services such as CloudWatch
  • Experience with Continuous Integration toolsets (Jenkins, etc.)
  • Experience with Source Control Management tools (Git-hub, etc.)
  • Experience on Java, .Net, Informatica, MicroStrategy and SQL Server Database
  • All applicants shall have lived in the United States for at least three (3) out of the last five (5) years
  • Must be able to pass a CMS-specific Public Trust background investigation
