Sr. DevOps Systems Engineer

SBD is seeking a DevOps Senior Systems Engineer for our Federal Client. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing, monitoring and deploying highly available, highly scalable applications for multiple environments. The candidate will be working with cutting edge technologies such as Puppet, Jenkins, JaCoco, SonarQube, Fortify, to build and maintain continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines within AWS Cloud Infrastructure.
 
Candidate will also need to have experience with automated and manual monitoring tools and technics as well as reporting and analytics tools for collecting and aggregating the monitored data and disseminating it to the relevant teams.
 
This is an opportunity to design and implement CI/CD pipelines from the ground up.
 
 Work as a member of the Scrum team daily for the maintenance, upkeep and integrity of these environments. Provide expertise in the use of Cloud reference architectures and solutions to support software development in a DevOps environment.
              

Duties Include:
  • Define and document processes for provisioning, administering and monitoring Cloud based infrastructure, and Servers
  • Develop tools that optimize developer productivity, improve software quality, and support continuous integration and delivery
  • Contribute to the design, architecture, and development of our internal infrastructure
  • Provide strong technical leadership focusing on continuous improvement
  • Develop manual and automated reports and or dashboards.
  • Handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Coordinate in problem identification, diagnosis and resolution
  • Support IT systems by involving in day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for identified problems
 

Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience with multiple operating systems, including UNIX, Linux, and Windows
  • 5+ years of experience in troubleshooting very complex distributed environments and perform root cause analysis
  • 3+ years of experience with working in Cloud environments including AWS Cloud
  • 3+ years of experience with running Internet facing or auto-deployed environments while adhering to service level agreements
  • 3+ years in Agile Development, Cloud systems, or ITIL related Certifications
  • 1+ years of experience with automation tools such as Puppet or Chef
  • 1+ years of experience with build automation tools such as Jenkins or Bamboo
  • Experience with AWS Cloud Monitoring services such as CloudWatch
  • Experience developing automation server (e.g. Jenkins) pipelines that include building, packaging, testing and deploying source code in a CI or CD type work flow over various types of Dev, Test and Staging environments
  • Experience integrating Unit Test, Integration Test, Code Scanning tools with automation servers
  • Experience with defining governance processes for Provisioning, Administering and Monitoring Cloud based infrastructure
  • Experience with Linux and Windows Administration including OS and Security Patching
  • Experience with Apache 2.x and JBOSS 7.x Administration and troubleshooting including patching for security vulnerabilities
  • Experience with monitoring highly available and scalable 4 tier architectures
  • Knowledge of the unique aspects of public services systems
  • Experience with Source Control Management tools (Git-hub, etc.)
  • All applicants shall have lived in the United States for at least three (3) out of the last five (5) years
  • Must be able to pass a CMS-specific Public Trust background investigation
