Solutions By Design II, LLC (SBD) is seeking a Database Developer to design stable and reliable database-related solutions based on project need/specifications and industry best practices. You will be responsible for developing, testing, improving and maintaining new and existing databases to help users retrieve data efficiently and effectively from a high data volume environment. You will be multi-disciplined within our database team to include but not limited to; Database Design, Database Development (SQL or NoSQL), ETL (Informatica) Development, and Database Administration (non-production and occasional production). You will work closely with the Data Architect in devising overall database related strategies, models, and processes.

As part of our Agile team, you will work closely to ensure system consistency. This role will include code development, enabling data migration from a legacy system database to a newly formed database, data creation for test purposes, participating and contributing in end-to-end testing activities, debugging and diagnosing of testing activities, and providing support for code as it migrates toward and into production.

Ultimately, you should be able to ensure our database systems run effectively, efficiently, and securely on a 24/7 basis.
 

Responsibilities:
  • Design stable, reliable and effective databases
  • Participate in Data Migration strategy and implementation.
  • Modify databases according to requests and perform tests
  • Solve database usage issues and malfunctions
  • Liaise with developers to improve applications and establish best practices
  • Provide data management support to users
  • Ensure all database programs meet client and performance requirements
  • Research and suggest new database products, services and protocols


Requirements:
  • 8+ years of strong data modeling, data migration, and ETL (Informatica) development experience
  • Strong database development experience with
    • Oracle
    • Postgres
    • Writing complex SQL’s, PL/SQL and Performance tuning
  • Strong experience in Design, Development, Testing, Implementing, and maintaining and troubleshooting Informatica and mappings and workflows
  • Experience implementing and maintaining the physical database environment to include but not limited to tables, indexes, and views
  • Experience with large scale data migration and ETL development using Informatica, and industry relevant data manipulation language/environment such as SQL scripts
  • Experience in application of data normalization and denormalization as applicable
  • Experience in testing, debugging, and diagnosing database activities
  • Experience in building, managing, and propagating database changes
  • Proven work experience as a Database developer
  • In-depth understanding of data management (e.g. permissions, recovery, security and monitoring)
  • Knowledge of software development and user interface web applications
  • Hands on experience with SQL and development of stored procedures or similar processes involving NoSQL environment.
  • Excellent analytical and organization skills
  • An ability to understand front-end user requirements and a problem-solving attitude
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working on an Agile Scrum team
  • Ability and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Working on a large team (50+)
  • Working with a CMS project
  • System modernization experience
  • Experience with CMS/healthcare data and team lead experience a plus
