Solutions By Design II, LLC (SBD) is seeking an Enterprise Architect (EA) to join our team in support of our Federal Health IT customer.  The enterprise architect uses the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) enterprise business strategy to define systems architecture to support that strategy. The EA demonstrates knowledge of architecture methodologies and core competencies and sets priorities appropriately. The EA is an expert in microservice concepts and terminology and the use of industry design patterns and service design processes. The EA works with CMS SMEs to create a framework for developing new enterprise services and solutions.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Lead the delivery of end-to-end project architecture decisions and deliverables as a part of the company's project delivery framework
  • Assists with the development of artifacts and conducts analyses on existing enterprise architecture artifacts
  • Provides support with the configuration of systems, networks, and IT-related business processes
  • Supports CMS in knowledge transfer and testing
  • Supports preparation of IT project lifecycle business, functional, and technical deliverables/work products
  • Leads and evaluates business requirements to identify potential microservice solutions and microservice architecture to employ to meet business objectives
  • Designs and implements microservice architectures through an understanding of the different forms of services-oriented technology to implement and address dependencies that exist between the architectural levels
  • Applies expertise in the mechanics of microservice architectures through the physical design of microservice oriented technology architectures, microservice oriented solutions, and related infrastructure
  • Evaluates technical trends and provides recommendations for microservice architecture to meet business objectives
  • Become a trusted advisor to senior CMS officials and their teams as they look to move their business to the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud
  • Understand the customer need and establish company's product as the best solution that addresses the technical and business requirements
  • Conduct architecture and technical workshops that may include enablement sessions
  • Manage customer technical due diligence and risk management processes
  • work closely with other elements of the Salesforce organization, e.g. alliances, sales effectiveness, industry business unit, product marketing, etc. to develop and execute internal and external programs and initiatives
  • Assist sales teams in responses to RFPs and technical requirements documents
  • Participate in all appropriate product, sales, and procedural training and certification to acquire and maintain the knowledge necessary to be effective in the position
  • Mentor and guide more junior technical resources
  • Ability to rationalize, articulate, and defend microservices-centric architectures over alternative architectures (where applicable).
  • Demonstrate a firm grasp of the following and how they typically apply to a microservices based architecture: Database Management System (OLTP and DSS), Messaging, Object Oriented Software Development.
  • An understanding of containerization and applicability to various application scenarios.
  • Ability to conceive, devise and implement appropriate levels of security spanning all relevant system components.

  • Ability to pay strict attention to detail and follow tasks to completion with limited oversight
  • Ability to communicate (verbal and written) ideas and solutions with client and project teams
  • Ability to work with and support Agile scrum teams
  • Ability to support a system modernization (complete rebuild) project at inception
  • Enjoy working with enterprise customers. You will have a passion for educating, training, designing, and building cloud solutions for a diverse and challenging set of enterprise customers.
  • 10+ years of experience
  • Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (or related)
  • Desired Education: Master’s Degree in Computer Science (or related)
