Senior Engineer - SAN

Solutions By Design II, LLC (SBD) is seeking a Senior Engineer – SAN to join our team to maintain the desktop infrastructure, a primary data center housed at Fort Lee, VA, a secondary unmanned data center in California that also serves as the disaster recovery site for Fort Lee, and a satellite data center in Germany. Centralized management of the desktop infrastructure and data centers is conducted from the customer site in Fort Lee, VA.
 
Required Knowledge, Technical Skills and Ability:
  • Deliver high availability for all SAN resources within the Data Center(s) while ensuring confidentiality and integrity of the environment provided to the business.
  • Provide technical and functional activities required for full integration of the SAN environments.
  • Perform system analysis to provide functional and engineering requirements for all requested SAN deployments.
  • Perform weekly status checks to validate storage utilization, SAN fabric capabilities and array capabilities.
  • Ensure backup solutions are operational, attain and test recovery points.
  • Manage the installation of new storage arrays, disks, and SAN switches.
  • Execute applicable Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) controls for all systems within this task.
  • Ensure all aspects of Disaster Recovery (DR) are operational and tested.
  • Review all security logs to include use of the agency’s enterprise log management system and local event logs.
  • Design, develop, evaluate and integrate fixes/patches and enhancements through all phases of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Perform all remediation actions for compliance, Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG), and vulnerability scan violations. Develop Plan of Action and Milestone (POAM) as required.
  • Comply with Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements. Enter work into Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS).
  • Attend technical reviews to ensure SAN infrastructure requirements are addressed in all enterprise enhancements.
  • Perform analysis on emerging SAN technologies as benefit to the Infrastructure models.
  • Comply with all applicable Department of Defense (DoD) policy and directives on Information Assurance (IA) and Cybersecurity.
  • Work tickets IAW the Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) for each performance standard.
  • Experience with the following: ACAS, IAVM, CM, STIG, HBSS, SAN, Netbakup, PAMS, SCAP/SCC, VMware, Linux, SANs, ITIL, Avamar EMC, eMASS
  • US Citizenship is Required
  • Must have a Security+CE certification along with certifications for the following: SANs, VCP/VDC, Linux, VCP, MCSE/MCSA, HPUX, ITIL
